Considered an apana vata tonic! May strengthen the bladder in children and thus prevent bed wetting, 5ml taken before bed. May also be used as a vasti.
Goldenseal: contains a substance called berberine that has been found to inhibit or kill many microorganisms, including fungi, protozoa and bacteria. Goldenseal used as a topical antibiotic for skin wounds, as well as superficial fungal infections. Research has demonstrated the antibacterial and anti fungal activities of goldenseal against multiple microorganisms including Staph, Strep, Candida, and others. Goldenseal contains calcium, iron, manganese, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, B-complex, and other nutrients and minerals. The roots and rhizomes of goldenseal contain many isoquinoline alkaloids, including hydrastine, berberine, canadine, canadaline, and l-hydrastine as well as traces of essential oil, fatty oil and resin. It is believed that the high content of these alkaloids gives its antibiotic and anti-infective properties. In particular it is the alkaloid berberine that is most likely responsible for Goldenseal’s effectiveness against bacteria, protozoa, fungi, Streptococci and it also promotes easier removal of the bacteria by inhibiting their ability to adhere to tissue surfaces. Berberine is also anti-fungal and strongly anti-diarrheal. It aids against the infection of mucous membranes such as the lining of the oral cavity, throat, sinus, bronchi, genito-urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract.
Myrrh oil: is considered to be antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and can be used as an astringent. As myrrh is also an anti-fungal, it has been shown to assist in the treatment of excessive itching. Antimicrobial and Antiviral: This does not let microbes grow or infect you. Thyme: is a strong antiseptic, antibacterial. Studies shows thyme destroys Staph and many other bacteria also has antiviral properties and can be used as a disinfectant for skin, wounds and for cleaning surfaces. Bactericidal: The same Caryophyllene and Camphene, along with a few other components, give Thyme Essential Oil anti bacterial properties. This inhibits bacterial growth in and outside the body. It kills bacteria as well as keeps them away. This is particularly beneficial in curing bacterial infections like B-Colitis, renal colic, bacterial infections in the genitals and urethra, intestines, respiratory system.
Oregano Oil: is known to be potent antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic oil that can reduce pain and inflammation and effectively fight off infections. Can destroy organisms that contribute to skin infection. Oil of Oregano can be applied directly onto the skin to treat itches, skin infections, and irritated gums, but only if it has been diluted.
