We have used Ayurvedic wisdom to formulate this gentle yet profound blend. Ginger with digestive and anti-inflammatory qualities as well as de-gly. licorice with anti-ulcer energy have been blended in a slippery elm base. The result is a good tasting, anti-acid, anti-inflammatory with digestive and anti-ulcer energies.
May help in the control of ulcers, IBS and other inflammatory diseases of the GIT. Take in hot water to start the day or on an empty stomach in order to coat the GIT with a soft friendly herbal covering. (note this is a special licorice which will not raise blood pressure).
Dose: 1 teaspoon in boiling water at the start of the day or between meals.
A little milk added is more pleasant for some people
Slippery elm contains a type of soft fiber called mucilage. Mucilage may slightly decrease how much chemical the body absorbs. Taking slippery elm at the same time you take oral medications may slightly decrease the dose of the medication. To prevent this interaction take slippery elm at least one hour after oral medications.
Naturally good digestable diet is paramount, eating heavy hard to digest foods, overeating, snacking on nuts or taking cold liquids with meals dampens digestive fire causing stagnation and eventually ulcerated tissue over time.
Very mild apple cider vinegar in hot water with meals may be apropriate for some individuals to aid digestion. Your digestion is the key to a healthy GIT. Take one spoon only of yoghurt with salt or pepper with meals for good bacteria.
